Lighting Guerrilla 2010: Night Readings

The Lighting Guerrilla (Svetlobna gverila) festival focuses on presenting lighting art installations set up in galleries and outdoors. This year, a large part of the festival programme, held under the motto "Recreating the city", will be dedicated to books and reading.

The Lighting Guerrilla festival offers ingenious and innovative creative solutions and shows the possible roles of artists in co-creating the public space. The part of the programme related to books will be divided into three strands, described below.

Evening Reading in Public Spaces

Lighting installations erected in parks, squares and streets will shade readers from the sun during the day and provide well-lit spaces for reading in the evening.

Private Reading

Late-night reading of comic books and poetry in a number of unexpected city centre locations will be made possible by a guerrilla intervention by the Spanish group Luzininterruptus.

Comic Books and Visual Poetry

Some of the lighting installations erected for the Lighting Guerrilla festival will be thematically related to comic books and poetry. The festival will include screenings of comic book poetry.
