17th Live Literature festival

The Live Literature (Živa književnost) festival combines readings by poets and writers with live music. What is special about it is that it is held in the street. Foreign literary works are read in the original and Slovenian translation by their authors and young Slovenian actors, respectively.

To mark Ljubljana's designation as the World Book Capital, this year's edition of the festival will feature an extended programme of events.

Programme of events

• Long Live the Book: a programme of creative workshops and other activities offering children and young people an opportunity to learn creative writing, comic book drawing, etc.
• Literary and musical evenings: a programme of events featuring visiting authors.
• Intermedia performances: a programme of events offering an opportunity to experience literature not only through literary readings but also through dance, installation art, video, improvisation, etc.

The scenic design for the Live Literature festival will be created by young Slovenian architects, designers and artists.
