Manuscripta: Book Painting in Medieval Manuscripts

The exhibition Manuscripta: Book Painting in Medieval Manuscripts brings together a selection of forty most interesting manuscripts held at the National and University Library in Ljubljana.

The illuminated manuscripts on display were created from the middle of the 9th century to the early 16th century. They testify to creative methods used by artists of various European schools of painting and tell stories about the long journeys made by their owners.
