Ljubljana Water Games - kayaking and canoeing competition
Free entrance
The Cobblers' Bridge section of the Ljubljanica river will once again host the annual kayak and canoe parallel slalom for the City of Ljubljana Award.
The competition will be the first in the series of the early autumn competitions culminating in the SLOKA 2010 World Championship in Kayak and Canoe Slalom, set to be held five days after the Ljubljana Water Games on the white waters of the Sava river in Ljubljana's far northern suburb of Tacen.
Apart from the kayaking and canoeing competition, the Cobblers' Bridge area will host a rich programme of accompanying events and activities, including a clean-up operation aimed at removing rubbish from the Ljubljanica river bed, a water pistol battle, adrenaline-fuelled flying fox gliding and slacklining, art workshops in which artists will be using the rubbish found on the river bed to create the cups to be awarded to the kayak and canoe slalom winners, water-themed children's workshops and, at the end of the day, a concert held on a Ljubljanica river raft.
