Ljubljana prides itself on being the motor behind the development of Slovenia’s conference market. An increasing awareness of the potential of this lucrative sector has spurred a further expansion and improvement of its infrastructure and services in the recent years.
Tatjana Radovič from Ljubljana Tourist Board explains why Ljubljana is the perfect location for meetings, and how it has become one of the first congress cities in Europe:
Modern meeting facilities and state-of-the-art technical equipment, professional know-how, a wide choice of event space for social functions complemented by a high-quality catering offer, as well as good language skills ensure that events are carried out according to plan. On top of this, the feeling of well being, safety, relaxed efficiency and hospitality are often quoted among impressions that conference delegates and business executives carry from Ljubljana.
Although it has been on the European conference map for nearly three decades, it is still regarded as a relatively new destination yet to be fully appreciated.
Nevertheless, its ranking among the top 50 cities for international association congresses over the last years, published in the ICCA (International Congress and Convention Association) statistics, also proves that many conference organisers have selected it as a destination for important scientific meetings in the past. The corporate and incentive sectors are equally developing in the more recent years.
