Tea Party at Count Blagaj's
This excursion takes you to Polhov Gradec, a picturesque village in the middle of the Polhov Gradec Hill Range made famous in the 19th century by Count Ursini Blagaj.
Count Blagaj was one of the most active figures in the Enlightenment Movement in Slovenia and a botanist who Daphne blagayana, a flowering shrub protected for over a hundred years, was named after. The excursion takes you to his home, the Polhov Gradec Mansion, where you will attend a tea party hosted by Count Blagaj and learn, among other things, the reason why in 1838 Count Blagaj was visited by King Frederick Augustus II of Saxony.
