Nissan Academy – Three Cars Revealed

In October 2015 a French agency Samarcande organised an internal training for the Nissan European sales network. They wanted to surprise participants with a destination that they would probably never have thought of, thus Ljubljana was chosen. Read the story about the launching and testing of three different Nissan cars the venue and the people that made everything possible.

The Chosen Venue and Superchargers for Electric Cars

Clémence Vernoux, Project Manager at Samarcande, explains: “The Four Points by Sheraton Ljubljana Mons Hotel (Four Points) was perfectly suited for the needs of this car-related event – meeting spaces big enough for cars to fit in and direct access to the roads for test drives. Luka Stepančič, Project Manager at the hotel, ads: “In our parking lot we have recently set up supercharges for electric cars, which was the decisive factor in in launching the electric vehicles Nissan Leaf 2016 TTT and Nissan Leaf 2016 TTT and Nissan e-NV 200.”

Forest and the Challenges for the Four Points Team

The big lobby connecting to conference rooms was laid out in an innovative way. Upon entering it, the delegates found themselves in a lifelike forest with trees, green logs and exhibited cars.

“Our client wanted to simultaneously launch three different models: Nissan Navarra TTT, Nissan 2016 LEAF and Nissan e-NV 200. During the course of the event the cars and meeting spaces positions had to be changed in the most subtle way, and we are very glad that we were able to make this possible for our client” says Luka Stepančič, Project Manager at the Four Points.

Activities for Delegates outside the Conference Rooms

In Ljubljana, participants went on a guided tour of the city by night, provided by professional guides via Ljubljana Tourism, and had two culinary experiences in the city - in the restaurant Gostilna na gradu at the Ljubljana Castle and at As Aperitivo, a relaxed, chill and modern restaurant in the downtown area.

Clémence Vernoux, Project Manager at Samarcande, adds: “A different activity followed, which was not located in Ljubljana, but the Convention Bureau's website was of good help to find the idea: we privatized the Postojna Cave, where we had a private guided tour, a cocktail while a saxophonist was playing live and then a dinner at the Cave Mansion. This was an unforgettable experience for the group.

The role of the Ljubljana Convention Bureau

It was a key factor to make this project possible. Firstly, by giving us ideas of places and animations, plus all the arguments and helpful tools to present the destination to the client. When we went on site inspection, we were extremely well welcomed and guided. We saw all the potential of Ljubljana, including the suggested event venues, the restaurants… And finally we also had a strong support during the event", explained Clémence Vernoux, Project Manager at Samarcande.
