BEAVER TRAIL (BOBROVA POT)
Cycling the Beaver Trail, you will also learn about the pile dwellers of the area - their dwellings, handicrafts, clothing, diet, and so on. The route passes by most of the village's attractions, from the Church of St. James (the Slovenian St. James Way (Jakobova pot) also runs past it and on through the village), which the monks of Bistrica wanted to build on top of the hill but the locals repeatedly carried the building materials back to the marsh; to the village chapel with its paintings by the famous church painter Simon Ogrin; to the former Folk Elementary School building and other interesting buildings of rural architecture, from the wooden pigsty and feed kitchen, to haylofts, kozolec hayracks, and typical ground-floor farmhouses with preserved wooden roofs.

FROM HORJUL TO KORENO
From here, the route proceeds on a gravel road, mostly in the shelter of the forest, but in places the world opens up and you look out across grassy hayfields and up Alpine slopes again. This is the most challenging part of the ride, as the gradient does not let up until you emerge from the forest into the open countryside just before Koreno.
