While we left our kids with the organiser to take a ride to the starting point in Medvode in a van, we decided to cycle there instead, passing vast golden fields of wheat, crossing the river over a hanging wooden bridge, and refreshing ourselves with natural spring water.

Sunday Promenade Concerts by Ljubljana's Wind Orchestras
Every Sunday between 8 June and 5 October 2025, one of Ljubljana’s four wind orchestras will perform in the city centre between 11:00 and 12:00.

Poljanska fest
The road shuts down to traffic, and shops and cafés take over the pavement with colorful stalls and tasty treats, turning the street into a buzzing urban festival—that’s the signature event of the creative Poljane district. During the day, kids get hands-on in creative workshops while adults dive into smart conversations like the “Philosophical Armchair.” As the sun sets, the street transforms into an open-air stage, with music floating through the air from local artists—everyone from Jana Šušteršič to Klemen Slakonja and others.
