A Winter Fairy Tale for Children: Grandpa Frost, Street Theatre and Snowy Adventures in Ljubljana
He will greet children along the route from Breg, across Čevljarski Most Bridge, Mestni Trg Square, Stritarjeva ulica Street, Prešernov Trg Square, Wolfova Ulica Street, Kongresni Trg Square and Novi Trg Square, with stops in front of City Hall, Prešernov Trg Square and Novi Trg Square. © Blaž Pogačar The covered market buildings The covered market buildings along the Ljubljanica River, at times reminiscent of Venetian palaces, are one of the most recognisable images of Ljubljana. While Plečnik modelled the river side of the market halls on Italian Renaissance lines, he chose antique-type columns for the street side, to stand before the entrances to individual buildings.

Indoor market The so-called 'Plečnik's Covered Market', built to designs by the architect Jože Plečnik between 1940 and 1944, is conceived as a two-storey range of riverside market halls following the curve of the river. Shops offering Slovenian products and catering establishments are located in the upper storey. In the lower storey, there is a fish market with a small fish restaurant and DobraVaga Art Gallery.
