Violeta Egorova is a Russian pianist whose deep dedication to musical art goes far beyond her skill at the piano. She began playing the piano at the age of four, and by six, she had already performed on television. She studied at the Moscow State Conservatory P. I. Tchaikovsky under the guidance of Lev Naumov, "the godfather of the Russian piano school." She is known as a careful and effective ambassador for preserving the tradition of the Russian piano school and Russian classical music in general. Since 2011, she has been leading the Rachmaninoff Academy in Italy, teaching at masterclasses, and serving as the artistic director of the Moscow ConcertFest international festival.

She returns to Ljubljana with a German programme that includes Beethoven’s Variations and Fugue in E-flat major, Op. 35 (the theme Beethoven used also in other works, including Symphony No. 3 "Eroica," after which the variations were named) and the famous proto-Romantic piano sonata "Moonlight". After the intermission, she will present the thematically complete cycle of Symphonic Etudes by Robert Schumann. In these etudes, the "symphonic" quality is revealed through the liberation of the variation form from the conventions of bourgeois salons, as well as through the wide range of textures that the pianist skillfully combines and interweaves in a symphonic orchestra-like manner.
