Polhov Gradec and its surroundings, which spread over hilly outskirts of Ljubljana, boast a rich historical heritage, beautiful nature, as well as a strong and authentic rural tradition. The trip to this interesting part of Slovenia includes a tasting of local delights.
You will visit a family-owned cheese dairy, where in summer goats graze freely on the colourful grassy hillsides from where you can enjoy wonderful views of the Alps, and taste some of the goat-milk products. You will also visit one of the best restaurants in Ljubljana surroundings, the Grič Restaurant in the village of Šentjošt nad Horjulom, where top chef Luka Košir will pamper your taste buds with local and fresh ingredients (preferably taken from his own garden).
You will discover and taste the story of Slovenian honey in one of the most renowned Slovenian bee-keeping facilities. The refined Count Blagaj will meet you for a tea party at the Polhov Gradec Mansion, where you will get the chance to chat with him over a cup of home-made herbal tea.
