Exploring the Alps: Velika planina and Kamnik

Discover Kamnik, a small medieval town with a rich history, and learn about the life of herdsmen on the nearby Velika planina high mountain plateau.

Your first destination will be Kamnik, a small medieval town nestled at the foot of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps. After taking a tour of its historical town centre, you will visit the scenic valley of the river Kamniška Bistrica and then continue to the Velika planina high mountain plateau.

On Velika planina, you will learn about the local tradition of herding, take a walk around interesting herdsmen's huts, taste a traditional local cheese and other home-made delights, and feel the spirit of herdsmen's life.

The price includes transfers, guidance, and admission fees.
