Beer Way to Freedom Tour

People toast with beer.

© Nina Medved

Do you like local beer and are interested in local stories and legends? Then join us on a trip to taste beers from four different local breweries, take a walk, and learn some interesting things about the town of Kamnik.

Take the train to the medieval town of Kamnik, the town with the most microbreweries per capita in the world. A guide will meet you at the Freedom Square (Slov. Trg svobode) in Kamnik and take you along the Path of Beer and Freedom. At various locations, you will enjoy a variety of beer snacks and taste beers from four different brewers, including a truly mythical beer. The Beer of Freedom is said to have been inspired by a local myth and to have inspired all the inventors of its time.

You will walk along a picturesque circular route with a guide who will introduce you to local stories and legends, and spice up your walk with fun beer and sports activities. Finally, you will visit the largest brewery in Kamnik, where a local brewer will guide you around the brewery and introduce you to the beer-making process.
