12 Jun 2025
At last year’s 30th Tour of Slovenia, Ljubljana was showcased with captivating cycling and acrobatic performances, broadcast to millions of viewers around the world via television and social media. The video City of Cyclists, which reveals the behind-the-scenes coordination of a choreographed performance at Prešeren Square, cycling atop Ljubljana Castle's tower, and acrobatic descents down the Nebotičnik skyscraper, earned Ljubljana Tourism a gold award in the Tourism category at the Diggit competition in early June, and a silver award in the Tourism Products category at the International Tourism Film Festival Africa (ITFFA). In the same category, the promotional video for the LUV Fest - a festival of love, art, and wandering - also received a silver award.

The City of Cyclists video presents both the background and the striking performances of cyclists and acrobats at iconic locations with panoramic views of Ljubljana. It merges dynamic footage from a variety of sources – national television, Eurosport helicopter shots, and original material – and positions Ljubljana as an ideal destination for active holidays or city breaks rich in culture. At the same time, it portrays the city as a vibrant hub of unique ideas offering a range of adrenaline-fueled experiences. The video was produced by Ljubljana Tourism in collaboration with production houses McCann Ljubljana and Karata Film.
In addition to the domestic gold award at Diggit, the video received the silver award at the International Tourism Film Festival Africa (ITFFA) – the only African festival specializing in tourism, dedicated to honoring and promoting outstanding and innovative audiovisual content related to tourism and travel. At the same festival, the LUV Fest promotional video also received a silver award. The video offers an experiential portrayal of what Ljubljana has to offer during the February–March festival period, including city exploration, museum and gallery visits, shopping, dancing, and spring-welcoming celebrations. It highlights creativity, urban flair, authenticity, and the diversity of events, showcasing the many facets of love – not just romantic, but also love for culture, art, heritage, discovery, travel, and new experiences. The video was produced in cooperation with Bright Visuals.
