Ljubljana Tourism has been awarded by the international association of young restaurateurs and culinary masters, JRE, for the successful development of a tourist gastronomic destination.

The JRE awards promote high standards in the hospitality industry and recognize the efforts and achievements of those who have made a significant impact in this field through their projects, creativity, and dedication.

In Ljubljana Tourism's strategy, gastronomy has been identified as one of the leading tourism products for future development. Due to various factors such as national interest in gastronomy, the use of local and organic produce, recognition from globally renowned culinary guides like Gault&Millau and Michelin, and the overall improvement of Ljubljana's culinary scene, gastronomy could become a widely recognized element of the city's tourism and brand. Currently, food and beverages already attract 14% of visitors to Ljubljana, and Ljubljana Tourism aims to continue increasing this percentage in the coming years through collaboration and effective communication of the culinary offerings.
