Feel sLOVEni @ Business MICE Date

At the Feel sLOVEni @ Business MICE Date event, the Ljubljana Convention Bureau presented Slovenian capital's MICE offer to 25 European meeting organizers. Most of them already knew Ljubljana and its congress offer, therefore they were mostly interested in new hotel openings, incentive travel options and safety measures in the post-pandemic times.

Tatjana Radovič, Ljubljana CVB, commented: “We are very pleased that the Slovenian Tourist Board, in cooperation with the Slovenian Convention Bureau, has dedicated one of its virtual B2B events to the MICE segment. The event is held in a virtual environment, which enables high-quality and interacitve meetings with predominantly European cleints who have shown interest in our destination."

The exhibitors were able to present their offer through different tools, including direct messages, pre-arranged video meetings and exchange of contact details with foreign partners. Part of the programme was also a video presentation of Ljubljana and Slovenia as high-quality MICE destinations. In addition, participants gained insight into the future of business meetings via lectures and different roundtables.

A business event for British clients

A business event of a British agency specializing in the MICE segment - Moulden Marketing - was also held online. Ljubljana CVB presented Ljubljana to 14 clients from Great Britain, most of whom have not yet visited Ljubljana, they only knew it as the capital of Slovenia. What they were particularly interested in were the sustainable practices in the destination, gastronomy and active experiences, as well as flight connections between the UK and Slovenia, which are currently one of the major challenges of the Slovenian tourism in general.

New conditions for safe live meetings

Both events showed that the foreign clients are very interested in live meetings and enthusiastic about the restart of the business. They all stressed the importance of ensuring safety when hosting live, face-to-face meetings in the future: compliance with security measures, high percentage of fully vaccinated population, and easy access to quick testing were all elements the meeting organizers considered crucial for a MICE destination to be successful in the post-pandemic business reality.
