In the past, Ljubljana with its city convention bureau has already successfully cooperated with the key local partners in many aspects, including fam trips, site inspections and the production/coordination of destination bids, which have helped in attracting international association congresses. This is also reflected in the latest ICCA Statistics of International Association Meetings, where Ljubljana holds the 50th place on the global and the 27th place in the European city ranking.
The formation of the Ljubljana Strategic Bidding Team will enhance the current tactical cooperation. With a stronger and coordinated involvement of 23 meetings industry players at a CEO and marketing management level this new joint venture will enable to develop more focused strategic goals and objectives.
Ljubljana is currently also designing a destination support scheme in order to increase its attractiveness for international association events.
In addition, the Ljubljana Strategic Bidding Team has agreed to place additional funds to enhance international marketing and Ljubljana’s visibility on the association market.
