MoTA is a museum without a permanent space and collection. It is a gallery in Ljubljana that focuses on sound, kinetic, light, and other forms of artistic works. It hosts the temporary art collection ArteFacts of the Museum of Transitory Art - MoTA, premieres of young local talents, and works of established interdisciplinary artists. MoTA operates as a working laboratory, an exhibition gallery, and occasionally as a venue for social events, performances, and workshops. It is located in a monumental pavilion from the 1970s on Celovška Street, and its glass structure enables direct communication between the interior and the surroundings.

The platform is dedicated to the production and presentation of transitory, i.e., movable, experimental and living artistic forms, existing on the line between the present and the future.

If you have a special interest in experimental music, we recommend the SONICA Festival, which is designed as a temporary laboratory that examines the annual programme produced by MoTA. The festival also experiments with exhibition formats, and is accompanied by workshops, lectures, video projections and other events.
