Ljubljana wins the digitalisation award in the European Capital of Smart Tourism 2020 competition
In relation to the category of accessibility, she highlighted projects designed to improve urban mobility for everyone, including persons with disabilities (tactile signs, the “Ljubljana By Wheelchair” mobile app, the adaptation of public transport, the “Kavalir” electric vehicle network and electrical attachable handcycles for wheelchairs), as well as the opportunities offered by the Avant2Go electric vehicle car-sharing system. Among the projects in the digitalisation category, Ms Stušek announced a new chatbot for visitors and locals which will soon be launched on the Visit Ljubljana Facebook page.

Ice climbing in the Hell
A week into the frozen Hell, my friends finally talked me into giving ice climbing a fair try and the technically not too demanding Hell Gorge seemed like a good option. We parked our car in the parking lot right at the entrance to the Hell Gorge park a few kilometres from a village called Borovnica (also connected to the city centre by bus; more information on city buses) and followed a narrow path towards the waterfalls.

Summer in the city: how to stay cool in Ljubljana?
From the latter you can also effortlesly get to the higher ground of Velika planina plateau by an aerial cable car. The site of one of Europe's few surviving high mountain herdsmen's villages is also famous for its stunning natural beauty. The weather is a bit cooler at 1,500 metres above the sea level, but some hiking out in the open is required.
