Štêpánka Balcarová is a Czech trumpeter, composer and orchestra conductor. She is inspired by nature, poetry and visual art. The greatest influence on her musical creativity is the musical legacy of Bob Brookmeyer.
Balcarová completed her master's degree in jazz trumpet at the prestigious Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, Poland, and later studied jazz composition and arranging in Graz under the guidance of Edward Partyka.
