One of the most significant finds is the oldest preserved wheel with an axle in the world, which dates back to the time when the area was inhabited by pile dwellers, around 5200 BC. The pile dwellings on the Ljubljana Marshes have been placed on the UNESCO World Heritage List due to their exceptional historical value. The heritage of the pile dwellers in the Ljubljana Marshes is presented in the Morostig House of Nature and Pile Dwellings.
