    The architect added two footbridges to the middle bridge in order to link Prešeren Square with the old town quarter in the form of somewhat extended sidewalks. He thus created superb views in the gaps between the bridges and planted poplars in them on the lower terrace so that only their crowns that gently screen the view towards the Town Hall and Robba’s Fountain are visi- ble at street level.
