Slovenian Philharmonic, Kongresni trg 10, 1000 Ljubljana

Together they will present a distinctively Mediterranean programme.

Boccherini’s Guitar Quintet No. 4, with its famous fandango, brings the rhythm of Andalucia; the Intermezzo from Granados’s opera Goyescas conjures up the world of Goya’s paintings; and Mar i Bel by Ferrer Ferran combines the intimacy of a personal dedication with the musical tradition of Valencia.

The second part of the evening juxtaposes a violin concerto by the baroque master Giuseppe Tartini, a native of Piran in present-day Slovenia, with the cycle Vistes al mar by the Catalan composer Eduard Toldrà, which paints an aural picture of the sea inspired by the poetry of Joan Maragall.

You're warmly invited to the Marjan Kozina Hall at the Slovenian Philharmonic!
