The author’s performance connects the living Slovenian tradition of the pozvačin with his own identity, exploring the space between heritage and contemporary queer culture.

Within the piece, he draws parallels between Slovenian cultural heritage and the freedom of expression of the modern individual. Though these two worlds may seem distant at first glance, they are linked through moments of “firsts,” which reveal a personal interweaving of tradition and queer emancipation.

The pozvačin, a ritual figure of Slovenian folklore, represents a communal celebration of love between two people, while queer culture invites a celebration of diverse, universal love. These two expressions of love and joy come together in the performance to form a unique narrative.

Küšni me (Kiss me) is a love letter to both tradition and modernity, asking: whose wedding will we attend – and which values will we choose to uphold?

You are warmly invited to join them and experience this singular story, which opens new questions about identity, love, and community!
