The central nationwide literary festival – under the auspices of the Slovene Writers’ Association – brings Ljubljana and numerous partner cities across Slovenia and in the neighbouring regions to life every year.

The central theme of this year’s 30th jubilee edition of the Slovenian Book Days is »Tree, Word, and Human«, a verse from Edvard Kocbek’s poem Na polju (In the Field).

This nationwide literary festival – a unified, heartfelt tribute to books, nature, and creativity – brings to Ljubljana literary talks, readings, poetry interpretations, award ceremonies, music, performances, and creative events for children.

From 5 to 7 June, you are also invited to a vibrant book fair in the green garden! There, among other things, you’ll find books that are not – and never will be – displayed in shop windows.
