How does substance, when reimagined, transform into contemporary jewellery? How does material, through the creative process, become a carrier of ideas, stories, and personal expression?
You are invited to enter the world of contemporary jewellery that reflects the spirit of our time and encourages new ways of thinking.
Celebrating its fifth anniversary, Slovenian Jewelry Week (SIJW 2026) returns to bridge the worlds of artists, researchers, and master jewelers. This jubilee edition offers a cohesive program that masterfully intertwines contemporary art, innovative design, traditional craftsmanship, and global exchange.
The central program features three major exhibitions, showcasing the work of 152 artists hailing from 38 countries.
Events will unfold across Slovenia, with primary locations in Ljubljana (Center Rog), Izola, Slovenj Gradec, Kranj, Rogaška Slatina, Slovenska Bistrica, Vrhnika, and Miren.
This year’s collections delve into the concept of "Substance / Reimagined," inviting designers to explore the evolution of materials and their deeper meanings.
Main exhibition of SIJW 2026 – Substance / Reimagined
Theme Substance / Reimagined explores materiality and the transition between the physical, symbolic, and digital worlds. It raises questions about the origin, essence, and transformation of matter and its role in contemporary jewelry design. It highlights the relationships between tradition and modern technologies, physical experience and virtual spaces, and creative intuition and algorithmic logic.
