Festival Ljubljana events not only cultivate and educate society and raise cultural awareness, but also provide experiences that broaden one’s mental framework.

Festival Ljubljana will once again host its International Piano Competition in 2026, bringing together some of the most promising young pianists from around the world after a highly successful first edition. This triennial competition, open to professional pianists born between 1995 and 2009, offers an exceptional opportunity for outstanding musical performances and encounters with an international audience.

In the first two stages, competitors will showcase their interpretations of Beethoven’s sonatas as well as selected Romantic and Modernist works. The six best virtuosos will advance to the final, featuring two evenings of performances with orchestra and well-loved concertos from the Classical and Romantic repertoire.

You can find more information about each of the final evenings below, under Events as part of the festival.

You are warmly invited to the Gallus Hall of Cankarjev dom!
