Kids Love Slovenia Menus

Children will be able to choose from three different main courses:

• Pinsa (flavor of choice)
• Smash burger (bun, beef patty, cheese, onion, and toppings of choice)
• Fried chicken

We have also prepared something special for our youngest gourmets, combining playfulness with premium flavors. In collaboration with the Bread and Black restaurant, we present the pinsa – a modern and lighter version of pizza that always impresses children with its crispy center and fluffy crust.

The secret of their pinsa lies in a special dough that undergoes long leavening, ensuring easier digestibility and exceptional flavor. Topped with carefully selected local ingredients, such as mild tomato sauce, high-quality mozzarella, and perhaps a slice of excellent ham, this dish is the perfect choice for little explorers of Ljubljana's streets. Bread and Black pinsa is not just a meal, but an opportunity for children to discover quality dough preparation and authentic flavors in a fun way.

For kids who know exactly what a good burger is, we’ve included a true star of Ljubljana’s street food in our menu – the Smash burger. The juicy beef patty is prepared on a hot griddle to achieve that signature crispy crust while remaining perfectly tender on the inside.

It is served in a soft, lightly toasted brioche bun with mild melted cheese, ensuring a creamy texture without any strong or spicy toppings that might bother young taste buds. For lovers of timeless classics that smell of Sunday lunch at grandma's, there is the legendary fried chicken from Gostilna pri Mari. This is a dish that never disappoints – carefully prepared pieces of chicken are coated in a golden-yellow breading that crunches pleasantly with every bite, while the meat underneath remains incredibly juicy and tender.

To make the experience perfect and homelike, the chicken is accompanied by traditional Slovenian sautéed potatoes, prepared according to an old recipe that practically melts in your mouth. With this dish, Gostilna pri Mari brings the warmth of home cooking to the plate, which, with its homeliness, will delight all young explorers of new flavors.

For the perfect end to a meal, we have prepared a true Slovenian classic loved by generations of children – the famous "šmorn" from Dvor Jezeršek. This fluffy, shredded pancake is a symbol of homeliness and the fondest memories of grandma's kitchen or favorite school lunches.

Prepared from a simple batter of eggs, flour, and milk, Jezeršek's "šmorn" is baked to a golden-yellow color, remaining immensely soft and melting in your mouth. As the most famous representative of traditional "flour-based" dishes (močnata hrana), it brings nostalgia and pure joy to the plate, which is sure to delight our youngest guests.
