And here it is at last: the true Ljubljana spring, when the willows along the Ljubljanica turn green, fruit trees burst into bloom, and the city’s café terraces fill with cheerful locals soaking up the warm sunshine. By now, we’ve surely revisited our favourite foodie spots and are ready to explore the new arrivals that this spring has brought (or is still bringing).

Bazilika Studio
Zeljarska 7

The Bazilika family is growing; these days, a new studio dedicated to special culinary events is opening with an inaugural feast. Darja from Bazilika promises many exciting gatherings in the new space - some in the form of her own workshops, others featuring special guest chefs from near and far. We can’t wait to take a seat at her table!

Brlog
Zaloška 6a

A new restaurant has opened near the Ljubljana University Medical Centre, led by a team of four young culinary creatives inviting us to enjoy modern, flavorful Slovenian cuisine. From Monday to Saturday at lunchtime, you can choose between vegetarian, meat, and fish daily specials, or order from the à la carte menu. And that’s not all - Brlog can also be booked in advance for exclusive parties, business gatherings, or private events.

Food Fellas
Kranjčeva 22

Next time you’re heading to a concert at Cvetličarna - or just passing through the area during the day - stop by Food Fellas. This new spot offers a fusion of flavors from near and far, sometimes leaning toward street food, other times toward soul-nourishing comfort dishes. Drop in for a weekday lunch, or during concert nights for an evening snack that’ll keep you energized well into the night.

Ljubo
Trubarjeva 7

If something’s happening in Ljubljana, it’s probably happening on Trubarjeva - and recently, a new bar has opened there that might just be the place we didn’t know we needed. Carefully selected drinks, Italian-style cicchetti, trendy Portuguese canned fish, and a relaxed atmosphere - what more could you want for an after-work aperitivo? From now on, we’ll happily say: “Home is lovely, but let’s meet at Ljubo!”

Meyhane Zahir
Rečna 8

You may have already discovered this Aegean gem on Rečna Street, spotted them at the Open Kitchen market, or perhaps you haven’t heard yet about this new Turkish restaurant that opened during the Christmas season. Meyhane Zahir brings the meyhane concept to Ljubljana - a style of dining focused on hot and cold Turkish meze and the serving of traditional rakı, an anise-flavored spirit. No need to book a flight to the Aegean coast - the team has brought a piece of it to Krakovo!

Mica by Grič
Rakuševa 1 (Aleja)

We’ve saved perhaps the hottest culinary news of the season for last. Luka Košir, the chef behind the Michelin-starred restaurant Grič in Šentjošt above Horjul, is opening a new venue this spring at the Aleja shopping center, dedicated to high-quality traditional Slovenian cuisine. Named after Luka’s mother, Mica will likely feature homemade goulash with a variety of sides, along with seasonal stews, fried chicken, Carniolan sausage, and their take on Wiener schnitzel, fried in two pans. We’re keeping our fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly and that Mica welcomes its first guests very soon!
