The exhibition features than 50 masterpieces from the Emperor Rudolf II collection. Among others, works of early Dutch, Flemish, German and Italian painters such as Lucas Cranach, Hans von Aachen, Hans Holbein, Titian, Paolo Veronese, Jacopo Tintoretto, Guido Reni and Peter Paul Rubens are on display.

The Prague Castle Picture Gallery is one of the few art collections in Europe that has been operating continuously for many centuries until today. Emperor Rudolf II was considered a passionate collector. His gallery with about 3000 paintings and collections on view in The Kunstkammer was not intended to be admired by the public, but strictly by those who knew how to appreciate their qualities and take advantage of their teachings.
