Stična Monastery

This excursion takes you from Ljubljana to the Stična Cistercian Abbey, which houses, among other things, the Slovene Museum of Christianity.

The Stična Cistercian Abbey, founded in 1136 and still inhabited by monks today, is one of the most beautiful examples of Gothic architecture in Slovenia. The collection of the Slovene Museum of Christianity includes, among other things, the famous Stična Manuscripts, some of the oldest surviving texts in Slovenian.

Half-day excursion. 

Departure point

Slovenian Tourist Information Centre at no. 10 Krekov trg square or, by prior arrangement, Ljubljana's hotels and youth hostels.  

Number of participants

The excursion requires a minimum of two people to operate.
