The Stična Cistercian Abbey, founded in 1136 and still inhabited by monks today, is one of the most beautiful examples of Gothic architecture in Slovenia. The collection of the Slovene Museum of Christianity includes, among other things, the famous Stična Manuscripts, some of the oldest surviving texts in Slovenian.
