A visit to the Škocjan Caves transports you into the UNESCO world of the underground canyon, where the Reka River has created one of the greatest wonders of the Karst world. After the astonishing subterranean experience, a transition awaits you on the coast, where the seaside town of Piran offers Mediterranean elegance and Venetian architecture with an unforgettable view of the Adriatic Sea.

The Škocjan Caves are not just caves – they are a magnificent Karst subterranean kingdom and the only monument in Slovenia listed on the UNESCO World Heritage list since 1986. Expect to enter Europe's largest underground canyon, where the Reka River has carved a dramatic gorge up to 140 meters high.

Prepare for an unforgettable walk across the Cerkvenik Bridge, a footbridge that spans high above the underground river, and feel a grandeur that recalls scenes from fantasy films. The system includes some of the largest subterranean chambers, such as Martel's Chamber, which, with a volume of 2.2 million cubic meters, is one of the largest discovered caves in the world.

This unique Karst phenomenon offers an experience of the raw power of nature that will leave you speechless.

After exploring the mighty subterranean kingdom of the Škocjan Caves, head towards the coast, where Piran awaits you, one of the most beautiful and photogenic Mediterranean gems. The town, which grew out of salt, will charm you with its Venetian allure, narrow streets, and red roofs.

Walk across Tartini Square, which was once a harbour basin, and is surrounded by magnificent buildings, such as the Venetian House and the Town Hall.

For an unforgettable highlight of your visit, climb the Piran Town Walls. From the walls on the hill, the most beautiful panoramic view of the whole of Piran opens up before you.

Visit the magnificent Parish Church of St. George, a Baroque masterpiece that dominates the town, and discover its rich interior and historical heritage. For an unforgettable 360-degree view of Piran, the Adriatic Sea, and the Alps, climb its bell tower, which is a faithful replica of the Venetian Campanile di San Marco.
