Online Reservation System
To enhance the visitor experience and improve the sustainability of our destination, we've introduced an online reservation system for tourist buses.
This system allows for the timely booking of time slots for using designated pick-up and drop-off points near the city centre.
Notice of changes effective from June 1, 2026
Due to construction works related to the Ljubljana Passenger Centre and the sustainable redevelopment of Miklošičeva Street, the tourist coach pick-up and drop-off points on Miklošičeva Street and Železna cesta will be discontinued as of June 1, 2026.
Transport providers and tour organizers are kindly asked to use the designated pick-up and drop-off points on Bleiweisova, Ilirska, or Roška Street when planning arrivals and departures.
Tourist Bus Parking in Ljubljana
For tourist buses carrying organised groups of tourists, Ljubljana has a system of rapid drop-off and pick-up locations (up to 15 minutes) and numerous parking facilities offering all-day parking for buses.
When using any of the five coach terminals for dropping off and/or picking up guests it is necessary to book your slot in advance.
Tourists can get off the bus in the city centre and set off on a sightseeing tour, after which their bus can be parked for several hours in the P+R car park.
Frequently asked questions
The digital e-permit system for tourist buses operates through a web application on the Ljubljana Tourism website. Users will be able to reserve time slots for dropping off and/or picking up guests at selected pick-up/drop-off points.
They'll have the option to choose stops along Bleiweisova, Ilirska and Roška cesta. The permitted time for occupying the bus stop is a maximum of 15 minutes.
After finishing the reservation process, users will receive a confirmation email, which they have to activate within 10 minutes. Without activation, the reservation will be publicly available again after 10 minutes.
After successful activation of the reservation mail, users will receive the confirmation e-mail which serves as an e-permit.
Slots must be booked when using any of the five coach terminals for dropping off and/or picking up guests. Coaches using the pick-up/drop-off points without a permit may be subject to fines. Municipal Warden Services may ask you to show them the confirmation email for the use of pick up and drop off points.
Users need to provide the company name, vehicle license plate, phone number, and email. To book a slot, users must select one of the pick-up/drop-off points, along with the date and time of use.
Permits for using the entry and exit points will be free until further notice.
Please note that for multiple uses of the pick-up/drop-off points on any given day, multiple bookings are required.
Changes to the drop-off and/or pick-up time, vehicle license plate, terminal location, or date are possible until immediately before arrival and can be made free of charge.
Cancellations for the entire booking can be made free of charge. Cancelled slots become immediately available.
In 2026 and 2027, a renewed tourist coach management system will be introduced gradually, with the aim of improving traffic flow, the visitor experience, and the quality of life in the city centre. From January 1, 2027, coaches will be able to drop off passengers only at designated pick-up and drop-off points outside the inner city centre.
Key updates:
- gradual removal of pick-up and drop-off points within the inner city ring (June 1, 2026: Miklošičeva Street and Železna cesta; January 1, 2027: Ilirska Street);
- establishment of new locations and upgrades to existing ones (upgrades: Roška Street, Bleiweisova Street, and a new location on Zoisova Street near Križanke);
- introduction of a pick-up and drop-off point on Šubičeva Street for hotel guests and groups with reduced mobility;
- changes to the parking regime at the Tivoli parking area, where parking will be limited to a maximum of 3 hours at 7 parking spaces to improve traffic flow;
- upgrade of the online reservation system for tourist coaches.
The pick-up and drop-off point on Roška Street can accommodate up to four coaches at the same time, making it the largest of its kind in Ljubljana. It also serves as an excellent starting point for guided tours along the Ljubljanica River, where visitors can explore the city’s revitalised industrial heritage.
The location is particularly well suited as a starting point for exploring the city, with several attractions in the immediate vicinity:
- Cukrarna Gallery
- Rog Center – a new creative and production hub
- The Ljubljanica sluice gate – part of Plečnik’s legacy and included in UNESCO-listed Plečnik’s Ljubljana
- Ljubljana Youth Centre – BAZA
