BicikeLJ bicycle-sharing system
The BicikeLJ bicycle-sharing system gives you an opportunity to hire bikes from self-service terminals located across the wider Ljubljana city centre. BicikeLJ bikes are particularly suitable for shorter, up to an hour-long rides as hire is free if you return a hired bicycle to the nearest docking station within an hour and wait for five minutes before hiring a new one.
The use of the BicikeLJ system is practically free of charge. The only cost involved is the symbolic fee for compulsory online registration with the system, which stands at €1.00 for a week and €3.00 for a year and must be completed in advance of hiring.
How to register with the BicikeLJ system
To complete your registration on the BicikeLJ website, enter your email address and credit card number. When the transaction is completed, you will receive your subscriber number and a four-digit personal identification number (PIN) to be entered when hiring a bicycle.
How to hire a bicycle
The BicikeLJ docking stations are equipped with terminals displaying information about the bicycles available for hire and the locations of other BicikeLJ terminals.
Follow these simple steps:
- Using key 4 on a BicikeLJ terminal, select the language of your choice.
- Press key 1 and enter your subscriber number, which you have received by email.
- Enter your PIN and confirm that you agree with the terms and conditions of use of the BicikeLJ system.
- Select the number of the bicycle you want to hire and confirm your selection.
- To release a bicycle from a dock, push the button on the top of the dock.

Terms and conditions of use of the BicikeLJ system
Bicycles can be hired for any period up to 24 hours. On registration with the BicikeLJ system, you will be asked to authorize the system provider to debit your credit card for up to €350 in the event of damage to or disappearance of your hired bicycle or your failure to return it to a docking station within 24 hours of hire.

- €4.00 for each additional hour
In case of accident or bicycle theft, call the free phone number 080 23 34 and report the theft to the police within 24 hours.
