The European Food Summit has set itself the mission of becoming the most important culinary event in the region, helping to build a sustainable future for Europe and promoting Slovenia as an important gastronomic region with its own gastronomic identity and with Ljubljana as its culinary capital.

Every winter the European Food Summit brings top names from the culinary world to Ljubljana. The event is accompanied by a programme of prestigious culinary events in Ljubljana and the surrounding region.
As well as promoting the finest cuisine, the European Food Summit, which is organised by Jezeršek Catering with the support of Ljubljana Tourism and the Slovenian Tourist Board, represents one of the highlights of the winter season in Ljubljana and thus contributes to the deseasonalisation of tourism, which is one of the principal strategic goals we have set ourselves at Ljubljana Tourism.
Every year the Summit is attended by leading culinary experts from Slovenia and abroad, top chefs and representatives of the culinary media, who through their stories inspire us to think and act progressively for a better and more sustainable future. These stories are complemented at a special “experience dinner” by the flavours of the top culinary creations of selected chefs.
The programme of events open to the general public includes:
- a culinary stroll with Ljubljana chefs through the cultural temples and sights of Ljubljana
- a preview of the popular Open Kitchen initiative
- the attractive Cable Car Dinner served aboard the Krvavec ski resort cable car against a backdrop of breathtaking views
- the Gourmet in the Snow event at the Krvavec ski resort, where skiing is accompanied by a feast prepared by top Slovenian chefs.
