A Michelin Star for the Restaurants Strelec and Grič

Chef Luka Košir from the restaurant Grič Michelin stars denote restaurants offering exceptional gastronomic experiences; they are among the most coveted and recognizable culinary accolades in the world. Among the 63 Slovenian restaurants that made it to the list are Strelec, with chef Igor Jagodic, and Grič, with chef Luka Košir. The latter has also once again received the Green Star for restaurants with sustainable practices.

Butchers' Bridge

Its concept is to some extent artistic – it is adorned with statues and sculptures by the renowned Slovenian sculptor Jakov Brdar. The Butchers' Bridge occupies the site in the midst of the former butchers' booths and Brdar's creepy but interesting large statues and small sculptures of deformed little creatures sitting on the parapet somehow refer to the story of this past.

10th ECREA conference in Ljubljana

It is one of the major international scientific conferences and the largest scientific conference ever organised by the mentioned Faculty and the Slovenian Society of Communication and the Research Centre for Social Communication. The main theme of the event was "Communication and Social (Dis)order" which focused on the role of media and communication in times of political conflict, environmental threats, pandemics and the impact of artificial intelligence.

Peglezen building

© MGLC © MGLC © MGLC When in the early 1930s Jože Plečnik was preparing plans for Ljubljana's new town hall to be built in the Vodnikov trg square, his designs for the wider square area included a building to be constructed on a plot of land between the Poljanska ulica and Kapiteljska ulica streets which was, until the earthquake of 1895, occupied by a narrow house referred to as Peglezen (charcoal iron in Slovenian). A new town hall was never built, but the unusual designs for a new Peglezen building attracted attention of Matko Prelovšek, the director of Ljubljana's office of construction, and his wife Elza, who offered Plečnik to finance the construction.

December 2021 in Ljubljana

In line with Ljubljana’s sustainability principles, food and drink vendors will again use sustainable packaging made of paper, cardboard or wood, or which is otherwise biodegradable. Each vendor will include at least one dish from the Taste Ljubljana selection in their offer. The Municipality of Ljubljana this year again appeals to all kiosk lessees to forego plastic bags and replace them with paper or biodegradable shopping bags.
