In order to obtain funding to build the new high school edifice, they sold a part of the famous Ursuline garden, which extended west from the church and monastery and is currently occupied by the commercial and arts complex in Trg republike (Republic Square). By erecting the building of the Ursuline high school, Plečnik delin- eated the appearance of the new Šubičeva Street.
