Trnovski pristan Embankment
In the past it was used for unloading the boats carrying stone from the Podpeč Quarry, intended for the construction of buildings in Ljubljana. Later, when the architect Jože Plečnik was commissioned to landscape the banks of the Ljubljanica river, the area was turned into a promenade, remarkable for its stone steps lined by a row of willow trees.

Themed cycle routes around Ljubljana
From Fužine Castle it follows the riverbank through the Štepanjsko Naselje and Kodeljevo districts into the city centre (Petkovšek Embankment, Prešeren Square, Congress Square, Novi Trg) and ends on the river at Špica. The Plečnik cycle route (14 km) links Plečnik’s legacy in the Trnovo district, at Žale and in Tivoli Park. The Forest cycle route (7 km) follows the route Tivoli–Zoo–Koseze–Spodnja [Lower] Šiška and skirts Rožnik to connect Tivoli to Mostec.
