    In the cave, you will be mesmerised by the picturesque underground world of stalactites, and the other is one of the few defensive compounds protecting against Turkish invasions that have survived in Slovenia to the present day. Both landmarks are open to visitors, but make sure you check the availability of tours in advance. From here, the route will lead you through the forest to Cerovo, home to another of the area's biggest attractions: Kingfisher Grove (Vodomčev gaj), a treasure trove of flora and birds, and home of the pleasant Kingfisher Nature Learning Trail (Po sledeh vodomca).

Continue on across the flat terrain to the village of Ig and then to Iška Vas at the foot of Krim.
