    Lake Rakitna is the base for a popular 40-minute circular walk and a one-and-a-half-hour archaeological trail leading to the remains of a 3rd century tower and wall, part of a Roman defence system known as Claustra Alpium Iuliarum. The village of Rakitna is also the starting point for several longer hiking and cycling routes, the most popular leading to the nearby Mount Krim (1,107m).

  • A circular ride with the Urban train

    The Urban electric train will take you on an attractive circular tourist trail, which connects the main city attractions from the Town Hall to the Ljubljana Castle, the Špica embankment with the starting point for the Botanical Garden, the Trnovski pristan embankment, Plečnik House in Krakovo, the Roman wall, Križanke summer theatre, Slovenska cesta street, Kongresni trg square, Parliament and Prešernova cesta street. The passengers are able to get off at the Opera House to visit the Museum of Modern Art and the National Gallery or take a ride along the Cankarjeva cesta road to the Slovenska cesta road and the Ajdovščina stop and then continue via Dalmatinova ulica street and Miklošičeva cesta road across the Prešernov trg square to the final stop at the Town Hall.
