Ljubljana–Zbilje Lake
The lake is a popular excursion destination for locals and Ljubljana residents alike and a good place to soak up some sun, either on a day out or simply during a quick chat over a coffee. The man-made lake was created in 1953 by damming the river Sava. As well as being an attractive tourist destination, the lake is an important habitat for many species of birds, first among them the swans, who are permanent residents on the lake and well accustomed to visitors.

Ljubljana won the Golden Apple Award 2016 by FIJET
The president of FIJET Tijani Haddad presented the award to the Mayor of Ljubljana Zoran Janković at an award ceremony held on 24 Jun at National Gallery in Ljubljana. On the day after the award ceremony FIJET representatives planted a local variety of apple tree in Ljubljana's Šmartinski park to be a constant reminder of the received award for Ljubljana's residents and visitors.

Mestni trg square
A large amount of its medieval architecture was destroyed in the earthquake of 1511 and later replaced by Renaissance and Baroque buildings, which have survived until the present day. The best known is the Town Hall (Magistrat) with the famous Robba Fountain (Robbov vodnjak), sculpted by Francesco Robba between 1743 and 1751, in front of it.
