Hiking in the Ljubljana region
As a basis for the implementation of the workshops, we took personas of Slovenian tourism and, via them, identified an “important guest”, a “favourite guest” and a “future guest” for our hiking product. For each of them, we designed an “ideal day” in the region with an emphasis on hiking. With the help of the so-called blueprint method, we then went further into the process of planning their experience.

Ljubljana congress delegates survey conducted for the third year in a row
The three-year average results confirm that the delegates of international association congresses and other types of business meetings are among the most desirable visitors of Ljubljana due to many multiplying effects and considerably higher expenditure – as they spend on average (per day) three times more than leisure tourists. The ongoing research is of utmost importance to us, since it allows for the implementation of appropriate strategies at the level of the destination’s congress offer and wider.

Ljubljana–Zbilje Lake
The lake is a popular excursion destination for locals and Ljubljana residents alike and a good place to soak up some sun, either on a day out or simply during a quick chat over a coffee. The man-made lake was created in 1953 by damming the river Sava. As well as being an attractive tourist destination, the lake is an important habitat for many species of birds, first among them the swans, who are permanent residents on the lake and well accustomed to visitors.

Mestni trg square
A large amount of its medieval architecture was destroyed in the earthquake of 1511 and later replaced by Renaissance and Baroque buildings, which have survived until the present day. The best known is the Town Hall (Magistrat) with the famous Robba Fountain (Robbov vodnjak), sculpted by Francesco Robba between 1743 and 1751, in front of it.
