Intermunicipal Museum of Kamnik

Since its renovation, the mansion, whose interior furnishings have unfortunately not survived, has been housing the rich collections of the Kamnik Intermunicipal Museum. The small town of Kamnik experienced its heyday in the Middle Ages, when it was the capital of Carniola.

Ljubljana Marshes

The heritage of the pile dwellers in the Ljubljana Marshes is presented in the Morostig House of Nature and Pile Dwellings. In addition to archaeological finds, the marshes are also home to numerous cultural and historical sites, including the Church of St Michael in the Marsh designed by renowned architect Jože Plečnik.

Velika planina

Culinary offerings On Velika planina you can taste a traditional herdsmen's mid-morning meal consisting of soured milk and 'žganci', a lumpy dish of boiled flour, shredded and sprinkled with melted fat. The Zeleni rob guest house, from where you can head for the herdsmen's village, is well-known for its delicious 'štruklji' rolls with cottage cheese filling.

Drive to the end of the village, to a fork where the wider road on the right turns towards Blatna Brezovica. Take the narrower, left-hand road and drive past the houses to the start of a macadam road where the Bevke Learning Trail begins (information board). There is a small car park on the left.
