The programme of exhibitions focuses on the role of contemporary art in its local environment. Church of St. James
Mary's Column (Marijin steber), topped by a statue by the Salzburg-based artist Wolf Weisskirchner, was erected in the middle of it as an expression of thanks for the Slovenian lands having been spared from Turkish rule. The column was moved to its present location by Jože Plečnik, who redesigned the square in 1927.

Tivoli Hall
© Šport Ljubljana Basic description Šport The Tivoli Hall complex was built in the 1960s using materials often associated with shock work (or “udarniško delo” in Slovenian), i.e. concrete, steel and aluminium. Since then, many of the major indoor sports competitions held in Ljubljana have been held there.

Peace Child
This summer, young musicians from around the world will gather in Ljubljana for a unique artistic event – the Peace Child Week – organised by the Slovenian Youth Orchestra in collaboration with The Peace Child International foundation. The highlight of the week will be the performance of the musical Peace Child, with music and lyrics by David Gordon and Cat Stevens, and Slovene Youth Orchestra.
