This open-air exhibition will showcase some of the most inspiring examples of citizen science and guide you through ongoing research projects that welcome participation from everyone – not just scientists!

Citizen science is a form of scientific research in which anyone can take part as a non-professional researcher, regardless of age, education, or formal expertise. All that is needed is curiosity and a desire to contribute to scientific discovery.

Citizen science enables individuals to actively participate in the research process at various stages – from designing studies and observing phenomena to collecting data, analyzing results, and sharing discoveries with the world. In doing so, science becomes more inclusive and open to the public.

Guided tours will also be available on Thursdays – August 7th and 21st.

You are warmly invited to see the exhibition on Krakovo Embankment in Ljubljana!

Remark

The exhibition has been put together by the Citizen Science Network, which brings together individuals and institutions leading various projects, organizing events, sharing knowledge, and providing space for research. In 2023, the Central Technical Library of the University of Ljubljana (CTK) launched the website citizenscience.si, featuring a curated selection of Slovenia’s top citizen science projects. Today, the network connects over 60 partners.

The interactive exhibition, consisting of 22 posters and presenting over 30 projects, was created by a team led by Dr. Zarja Muršič.
