On the occasion of "Sretenje," the Statehood Day of the Republic of Serbia, the exhibition titled "Serbia and Slovenia Together" was opened on Gallus Embankment in Ljubljana, organised by the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in the Republic of Slovenia, presenting numerous historical connections between Serbs and Slovenes.

How did Katarina Branković Kantakuzina become the first Belgrader in Slovenia in 1434? What influenced Slovenian composer Davorin Jenko to write the Serbian national anthem, Bože pravde? Why did Slovenian film diva Ida Karvanja, better known as Ita Rina, change her name to Tamara Djordjević and convert to Orthodoxy at the peak of her career in 1934? Why did writer Alojzije Louis Adamič write a posthumous letter to inventor Nikola Tesla in 1943? In what way did the famous actor and director Stevo Žigon connect Slovenia and Serbia? Why did Nobel laureate Ivo Andrić feel at home at Lake Bled in Slovenia? These are just some of the questions answered by the exhibition Serbia and Slovenia Together.

The exhibition features a rich collection of photographs, some of which are being displayed in Slovenia for the first time. According to the organisers, more than 35,000 visitors are expected to view the exhibition.
