The CD Congress Centre boasts a central location at a walking distance from several hotels and the attractive Old Town. Its 22 multi- purpose halls and function rooms and a maximum plenary capacity of 2,000 delegates make it the largest purpose-built congress centre in Slovenia with auditorium-style seating and an established venue on the international conference market. The CD Congress Centre features a well-conceived design aligned with contemporary functional and aesthetic criteria as well as extraordinary acoustic properties of its halls designed by a prominent Slovenian architect, Edvard Ravnikar. The building forms part of the Slovenian architectural heritage and is worth paying a visit while staying in Ljubljana.
The CD premises are constantly being upgraded and refurbished, resulting in the Centre’s modernisation and updated functionality. The Foyers -1 and -2 have been restructured into state-of-the-art convention areas, while the redesigned top-fl CD Club offers stunning views across the city. The Grand Reception Hall, a remarkable location for gala events, has undergone a complete overhaul. The most recent intervention was the partial renovation of the largest auditorium - Gallus Hall, which also included installing brand new chairs, as well as the total refurbishment of the second largest auditorium - Linhart Hall. The venue, with a total surface area of 36,000 sq m, can welcome up to 5,000 visitors at a time and also provides extensive exhibition space.
In line with the green policy, CD has adopted energy-saving measures and integrated new, environmentally-friendly technologies and materials. As a contribution to increasing Ljubljana’s biodiversity, beehives have been installed on the building’s roof. Approx. 150,000 buzzing Carniola bees are now pollinating city plants and providing honey as a unique CD product.
