Lovely bars and terraces for sunny days in Ljubljana Več I love it when I find a terrace with a perfect view of the city or a place where I can sip a cold drink during warmer days. Ljubljana center has plenty of bars and restaurants with lovely terraces or gardens and I’m sure you’ll find and enjoy them. Since the options in the center are so awesome, there are also some places usually missed when searching for a place for drinks and good company.

Try the unique and delicious Ljubljana cake and satisfy your sweet tooth
It’s also a part of the Taste Ljubljana project, which brings us traditional Ljubljana dishes made from local ingredients and is available in selected restaurants. I recommend taking the Taste Ljubljana food tour, where you can try many of those dishes and learn something along the way. Remember, there are many other desserts besides Ljubljana cake, be sure to check them out, however, the cake is truly my favourite.

We have the new taste of Ljubljana 2021!
The contestants had to use at least three of the listed ingredients in their respective dishes, and were free to build upon them according to their own inspiration, whereby the dish had to be achievable and repeatable both at home and in a restaurant kitchen. The jury also rated the harmony of flavours, presentation and the story behind the dish. On her Dragon Plate, Brina Robinik Kobal combined roast beef with wine sauce, pumpkin puree and a raviolo stuffed with cottage cheese, caramelised onion, apple and walnuts.

Šmarna gora: route via Spodnja Kuhinja (669 m)
In part (or above all) because of the fantastic view and the excellent gostilna (restaurant) at the summit. It is well worth spending time here, especially on a clear day, to relax in the shelter of the little pilgrimage church and enjoy the view of Ljubljana with the river Sava, the surrounding hills and the Alps beyond.

Ljubljana receives the Best of Cities sustainable tourism award at ITB Berlin
It is the continuation of the Green Supply Chains ongoing project from 2015, where the Ljubljana Tourism collaborates with the City of Ljubljana Department for Environmental Protection, the Association for Sustainable Tourism GoodPlace and the Cooperative for Rural Development Jarina to connect the producers of local food and the hotel and restaurant managers, encouraging them to use 100 % locally grown ingredients in their kitchens. Last year the domestic public also recognised the incredible meaning of the Exchange: The Ljubljana Tourism received the 2018 Premik Naprej (Moving Forward) award for the best improvement in public administration for its implementation of the Exchange; the ceremony is organised within the Days of Slovenian Administration (Dnevi slovenske uprave), organised by the University of Ljubljana Faculty of Administration.
